February 22 and 23: A paper on "Socio-Economic Dimensions impinging on Regional Security and Stability" by CPA was presented at a seminar on "Emerging World Order: Implications for the Security Calculus of the Extended South-Asian Region". The event was organised by the Indian Army and Centre for Land and Air Warfare Studies (CLAWS).
2006

August 10, 14 and 18: CPA organised a three-part seminar on The Issues of Nationalism and Self-Determination. The three sessions focussed on India, China and Tibet in separate parts. The sessions were only for an invited audience which comprised of defence personnel, academicians, bureaucrats and journalists.

June 28: CPA released a collection of its reports published as a book titled India: Issues in Development. The book was released by Union Ministers Mr. Jaipal Reddy and Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar. You can contact us to buy a copy of this book.

April 13 and 14: CPA organised a seminar on Emerging Trends in Sino-India Relations. The session was inaugurated by Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar and His Excellency, the Chinese Ambassador Sun Yuxi. The proceedings of the seminar is soon going to be published into a book.

March 27: Mr. Guruswamy, Mr. Abraham and Ms. Natarajan travelled to Chennai for a private presentation in the Centre for Security Analysis about one of CPAS' upcoming projects on South Indian Socio-economic security.

March 6: Mr. Guruswamy gave a lecture on the Union Budget 2006-07 as part of the Malayala Manorama Budget Lecture Series. The event was reported to be a success. Copies of the lecture will soon be going out in issues of The Week.

February 20: Mr. Abraham gave a presentaion on South Asian Economic Security in a seminar organised by the Centre for Landwarfare Studies. He was replacing Mr. Guruswamy for the seminar.

February 18-20: Two CPA reports, "Redefining Poverty" and "FDI in Retail - II" were distributed to over 750 parliamentarians, 100 media organisation and 50 civil society organisations. We thank all those who replied with positive and constructive feedback.

February 16:
Mr. Guruswamy gave a lecture in Colombo that was jointly organised by the Centre for Security Analysis. The topic was the Economics of Peace. The presentation can be downloaded here.

November 22: Mr. Guruswamy gave a lecture at the United Services Institution of India on the topic "The Concept of Economic Globalisation and India's Security Needs". It was well recieved.

November 20-22: Four reports of the Centre were distributed to over 800 Members of Parliament, Speakers, President and Vice President. Many including Dr. Kalam, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mrs. Gandhi, Mr. Advani and others responded positively to the reports.

October 18: CPA's Study on Assam was officially released in Guwahati. The Release was hosted by OKD Institute of Social Development. The event saw participation from the bureaucrats, media and academics alike.

October 6: Mr. Guruswamy was invited to Chennai to speak on "A Socioeconomic Comparison of India, China and ASEAN by the Centre for Security Analysis. The lecture was well receieved and covered in the local newspapers including The Hindu.

October 5: On the invitation of the Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability in New Delhi, Mr. Guruswamy gave a talk on the topic of "Macroeconomics of the Union Budget: Resource Mobilisation and Expenditure Management".

August 9: Mr. Guruswamy gave a lecture at the United Services Institution, New Delhi on the topic of "India and China: a Socioeconomic Comparison". The event was chaired by foreign policy advisor, Mr. Nambiar, and was attended by bureaucrats and members of the defence services.
